News Release: 1/24/2018
ESTech Fiber to the Home
Eastern Slope Technologies, LLC. began construction of a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and advanced fiber technology project in the Bennett Exchange last fall. Our contractors have nearly completed laying the fiber north of I-70, and have begun working south of the interstate. Current customers are being cut to the new facilities in the Antelope Hills Subdivision as well as north of I-70. The $12 Million upgrade to our network will include the buried placement of 380 miles of fiber and construction will be completed in 2018. As we finalize the fiber placement in each service area, we will be contacting customers to set up installation appointments.
ESTech, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eastern Slope Rural Telephone Association, Inc. This project is made possible through a USDA Rural Utilities Service traditional loan to Eastern Slope Rural Telephone Association. As your local cooperative, we are excited to bring quality, affordable, high speed broadband internet services to ALL of our customers.
Business and home owners are using technologies that require more and more bandwidth. Fiber optics is the only medium that can keep up with the bandwidth demand. A single hair‐thin optical fiber can carry up to 1,000 times as much information as copper (traditional telephone network material) or co‐ax (traditional cable television network material). Fiber networks are extremely reliable and can carry multiple voice, data, or video streams into the same house at the same time! Our new speeds will be offered at our current prices, so check our website for these great values…as well as our upgrade specials for current and new customers!
ESTech, LLC has a proven track record of building, operating, and maintaining high quality communications services – now and in the future. Please feel free to visit our website at www.esrta.com and find the “Bennett Fiber” tab on the top right-hand corner of our home page for construction updates. Please feel free to call the business office at 1-888-999-3778 to discuss the planned upgrade or to inquire about existing broadband Internet availability.
